Meet The Team
Founder & Director
& Jazz Trio Teacher
Since beginning piano lessons at age four, music has become such a positive part of my life. I started Melody Music Lessons a few years ago when I realised my love for teaching.
I finished my double degree BMus(Honours)/BA at UNSW in 2018, receiving a
High Distinction for my Honours thesis in Music.
I have also been involved in choirs, rock bands, orchestras and contemporary ensembles.
I am so passionate about sharing music because it's such a beautiful creative outlet no matter your age or ability!
In my spare time you can find me on my yoga mat, walking my dog, in the garden or reading a good book!
I’ve been teaching since attaining my AMusA Diploma four years ago.
I have experience with a variety of ages and know how to adapt my teaching style appropriately; I believe exam grades are a good indicator of practice and I push my students to do their best, but it’s most important to me that they enjoy learning and performing!
Outside of teaching, I spend time editing photos for fun, drawing and browsing art collections!
I am studying Arts/Law at UNSW nearby (but still figuring out how that’ll fit in with my future!)
Piano & Cello Teacher
Teaching has been a great joy in my life ever since high school. Starting from HSC Music 2 theory tutoring 4 years ago, I have had experience with teaching piano, cello and musicianship for a variety of ages.
I believe it’s important for the students to enjoy playing music above anything else. Even though I sometimes need to push exam students a bit further to bring out their max potential, I like to encourage my students to take a break from their normal routine and relax in the lesson to the sound of the piano. Working at Melody Music Lessons has been perfect as MML provides a fun and welcoming environment for students of all levels to enjoy learning.
On other days, I teach HSC Maths and also study Computer Science at UNSW. I try to squeeze in as much music into my life by performing piano and cello at church and taking organ lessons to be able to regularly play at the Sunday Mass.
I am an experienced guitar teacher with a BMus(Honours) from UNSW. I achieved First Class Honours for my thesis on improvisation in 2017.
I am currently studying for my PhD in Music at UNSW. I am also writing an instructional book on music improvisation to be released late 2019.
My interest lies in jazz performance but I can teach any style of music. I love seeing students thrive and progress, and it's rewarding to pass on my passion for music to my students.
I'm also interested in Sonic Arts and studied this area in my degree. With these recording and editing skills I've been able to record professional studio albums for the students at Melody Music Lessons.
Singing, Piano & Drums Teacher
I'm an enthusiastic and bubbly teacher and I believe it's important for music to be fun and enjoyable!
I started taking on singing lessons from the age of 11 and ever since then I have been extremely passionate about performing.
I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the Australian Institute of Music. I've completed my Rockschool AMEB Grade 8 Vocals with a High Distinction. During my music journey I've sat my Piano For Leisure exams and have also studied drums. I'm currently working towards sitting another high grade Musicianship exam to compliment my university music studies.
I'm super passionate about teaching and I believe in seeing progress in my students, by taking a caring approach to each student's needs. I believe that with this approach students can express themselves and find their own voice!
You will find Olive ready to greet you with a wagging tail upon your arrival at the studio.
Olive is an integral part of our community, keeping the mood light and putting smiles on the faces of students, parents and staff. Olive is well known and much loved here at Melody Music Lessons!
(Please note: Olive does not sit in on lessons. He is a small dog with a soft nature and happy personality).
Ever since taking up piano lessons from a young age, music has become a huge part of my life and it's something I’m extremely passionate about.
I strongly believe that although music may require consistent dedication and effort, it should remain fun and enjoyable for students. I strive to create this environment for students whilst encouraging them to do their best.
I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Medical Science at UNSW. I’ve completed my AmusA Diploma and ATCL Diploma and studied both Music 2 and Music Extension in the HSC.
Besides music, I love dancing and enjoying playing a range of sports!
I started learning piano when I was 4 and have loved it ever since. My favourite style to play and teach are pieces from the Romantic Period. I believe music is so important - it’s a creative outlet that allows you to release your stress.
In 2017 I achieved my AMEB AMusA Diploma with Distinction. I also recieved Honors for my fifth grade musicianship. I was nominated for HSC Encore, and with this performance experience I have taught students who achieved awards in eisteddfods.
I believe each student is individual and I tailor my teaching style accordingly. It is so satisfying when my students accomplish results they are proud of - I just want my students to be happy and do the best they can.
In my spare time I enjoy eating at yummy brunch places, shopping and hanging out with my friends.
